M. T. Pockets Theatre is excited to offer an
intense workshop for young actors to enhance their performance skills through scene work, develop acting techniques and gain confidence on stage and in front of groups.
June 24: Intro to the Bard
Goal: Learn a few facts about Shakespeare, talking about modern Shakespearean influences, start breaking down a few scenes and the language, and introduce some basic theatre terms and concepts.
July 1: Breaking down the script
Goal: Have an understanding of the script, getting context for the plays used in the script, character development and physicality, introduction to blocking.
July 8: All the world’s a stage
Goal: Finish blocking, discussion of memorizing techniques. More practice with the language by breaking down some monologues.
July 15: More than Merely Players
Goal: Hands on experience with set design and costuming. Run the show without scripts!
July 22: Tech Day!
Goal: Learning the pain of tech rehearsal.
July 29: Like its a show
Goal: Running the show, like its a show.
August 4 and 5 @ 7:30 p.m.
